WORLD Vision’s 30-Hour Famine 2010 will be held from noon to 4pm this Sunday at Stadium Putra in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. The event features performances by Hands Percussion, Nicholas Teo, Lee Sinje, Juwita Suwito, Francissca Peter, Fish Leong and appearances by Deborah Henry and MY fm and MIX fm deejays.

World Vision Malaysia was set up in 1997 as the supporting arm of World Vision International, a global Christian humanitarian, relief and development organisation working for the well-being of all, especially children.

Themed Light Up Their Life, this year’s event aims to raise RM1mil for local and international projects, including The Street Children and Drop-In Centre projects in Myanmar and Thailand, Factory Workers’ HIV/AIDS Education Project in China, and locally the Shemariah Foster Home for Children, Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled and the Sin Chew Retirement Village.

CLASSICALLY trained Indian vocalist Bhavani Logeswaran presents an evening of enchanting Carnatic music on Sept 4 (7.30pm) at the MAS Auditorium in Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Logeswaran has been performing for over 12 years, both as a solo vocalist in music productions and as the lead vocalist in dance productions. She started learning the ancient fine art when she was four years old and went on to hone her talents in India.

THE Oral Stage theatre company presents Steven Berkoff’s stage adaptation of Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis.

The play is about Gregor Samsa who wakes up one morning and finds himself transformed into a gigantic insect and unable to work.

Through the course of the story, the attitude of his family transforms from care to detest, as Samsa becomes a burden to them.

Leading the cast are Sabera Shaik and Lim Soon Heng.

Metamorphosis will be performed from today till Sunday at Pentas 2, Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, Kuala Lumpur. Showtime is 8.30pm with 3pm matinee shows on Saturday and Sunday.
